The drought continues! It's sunny and quite hot: supposed to hit 100F today and tomorrow, the first time this Summer. The TV weatherpeople are acting as if it were the end of the world: amusing, and a bit annoying...it"s Summer in Washington and it gets hot! Geez! Leia is very busy supervising: my next door neighbor is having his porch screened in so he and the JR can sit out and enjoy it without being bitten to death by mosquitoes...I have no idea where they're coming from, there's been no rain to speak of for them to breed..  ....Leia seems bemused at the sight of a man up on a ladder..Hope all the poorly people and cats feel better soon...Erin: great news about the op!! |

Evening all.had my hair appointment this morning, 2 hours of pampering! then a trolley dash and a visit to the pet shop, where I spent more than I should have!! Now time to sit and do nothing for a while, apart from Catsey... PK..Have a lovely evening.... |

Spent most of today pottering in the garden apart from my optician's appointment early afternoon. As I expected there's has been a slight change (I wear varifocals and the reading area is a little poorer than before) I was a bit concerned when she noticed that there was a small burst blood-vessel at the back of one of my eyes, she's going to contact my GP and I have to make an appointment so that the doctor can investigate further. To be honest the optician didn't seem too worried about it but it's preying on my mind a bit. |
