Re: Update on Bagera...

The vet is going to give him this one last chance with the operation today (if he needs it), but we have already decided that if it fails, we are going to let the poor lad go to play at the bridge. I just didn't want to say anything until we knew the outcome of the operation

He's a happier boy since he has had the Foley Catheter inserted, as he's not in pain as such at the moment but obviously this isn't a long term solution for him. The vet is quite confident that the operation will be a success as she has seen a few cases like this before, but of course every cat is different.

Thanks for that Amber. Wish him very well for the op but I am pleased to know that you will let him go if that's the best thing.

Re: Update on Bagera...

Fantastic news today overnight Bagera has seemed to have come on in leaps and bounds. We clamped off his catheter last night, to give him the opportunity to urinate by himself if he could, to enable us to see whether or not he required the operation today.

The morning staff said that overnight, Bagera had passed two huge wees all by himself. One contained a tiny amount of blood, which is probably due to the trauma he has suffered recently, but the other was completely normal. He has urinated by himself one other time today as well. He is also a much happier boy today. He has been on painkillers throughout his ordeal, but he has always been a bit grumbly. Today he was really cuddly, purring away and generally being a very happy boy.

Needless to say the operation was not required today, and we have our fingers crossed that he continues to improve as he has today - things are looking up for the little man.

More great news, our cat rescue have somebody who is interested in Bagera, who is also a registered client of ours. Once he is back to full health, she will be looking into giving him his forever home

Re: Update on Bagera...

Thanks everyone, I really hope that he has turned a corner today!

If he continues to improve even half of how he has today, we are definately going in the right direction!
