Re: Ashera - the £12,000 cat

Stunning! But I wonder about the temperament: how many generations from the wild foundation stock x domestic are they? I'd be a bit leery of an animal that size, especially around children or small dogs...
Sad when you think what good could be done if that money were donated to CPL or similar organizations....

Well, I wouldnt want to have to worm that one and take a bite from it, thats for sure.
Have to agree with Dawn on this one too. Too many Bengals ending up in rescues as it is without adding this beauty to the list.

Totally agree but at least at that price it is not going to become a problem for rescues!!

Re: Ashera - the £12,000 cat

A beautiful looking cat but as everything is kept so secret, sorry confidential, about it there is no pedigree therefore it can't be shown anywhere in the world. Also he sells them all spayed/neutered therefore keeping toal control of this so called breed. A ridiculos price for a non pedigree cat but the said thing is certain types of people will buy them. Not because they love cats but because they see the poor animal as some sort of status symbol and that is all.

Beautiful creature, but not on my wish list. I agree with Dawn and the others - it's too close to a wild animal and who knows what the temperament would be like.

The so called "breeder" is clearly just thinking of this as a money making scheme

Re: Ashera - the £12,000 cat

It's a beauty alright - perhaps they will send me one and I can see whether they are worth it or not

Seriously though, if I had that kind of money to spend on a cat I would put it towards rescues first. Maybe even get a few of the old 'real' breeds whilst I'm at it - there are so many beautiful breeds out there!

While I am open to people respnsibly creating new breeds for the 'love of them' - I'm not keen on people seeing them as a way to make a fat profit and not much else!!

These cats were created in a lab, wonder how many had to be sacrificed because they weren't what 'they were looking for'?
