Thanks Jac, the dogs sleep in the front of the house, so I am guessing they didn't hear anything as they do bark if they hear anything strange on the front. It was windy but certainly not windy enough to move wooden garden furniture around Hubby has fitted one of those lights with a sensor tonight, the reason we didn't have one is because when we did the cats were forever setting it off so hubby just put a normal light out there but since this has happened, we felt it necessary to put another sensor light up....will see what happens

Glad that nutter with the gasoline has been caught Eileen.
Don't like the idea of intruders in the garden Fran, hope they don't return.
Got an evening to myself tonight as OH is off to the Astronomical Society, but I've brought quite a lot of work home from school to do. Actually I'm rather cross with OH as he woke me at about 5.00 am. He sleeps with headphones in, listening to music and one of the phones fell out, as I'm a very light sleeper the music woke me up. I poked him in the ribs, he grunted something, stuck the headphone back in and went straight off to sleep again. Needless to say I couldn't get back to sleep!

Fran, I didn't mean the wind had blown the furniture. I meant there had possibly been noises due to the wind and the dogs hadn't bothered because of that . wish I would say what I mean

@ Jac!! yes you are right, perhaps the dogs thought any noises were due to the wind. I'm putting the dogs in with Tom tonight so hopefully they will alert if we have any prowlers...

Or vice versa Fran and Tom can alert the dogs as he was the one who heard the noise.

Sure it was just a one off idiot.
