I echo all that has been said by others.

Do you know that it's been proven in the States that people who hurt animals go on to hurt and abuse children?

I hope your friends cat recovers un harmed by such a horrible experience.

I cannot believe people do such awful things to animals I really hope the cat makes a full recovery and that your friend gets to find out who was responsible.
