It just really hit it home to me how much danger he's in. He didn't sound too worried. Said it happens all the time

I think you've hit the nail on the head with your last statement Jac. We see the war on the TV but it's sanitized in the extreme. Soldiers see it first hand and all the time too, so they can be a bit blase about it all - hence his comment!

Still, it must have been very scary for you and really brought back home the realities of what Sean faces every day.
