Re: What term is used for a "moggie" now?

Good guess, but she was Polish...a refugee whose family got out just before Hitler invaded.......

Re: What term is used for a "moggie" now?

Our first cat was a beautiful, sleek black girl called Penny. Having rescued her from a pet-shop (this was about 35 years ago!) we then sensibly took her to the vet for a check-over and vaccinations. As the vet filled in the patient record card for her, I noticed that he put "Domestic Shorthair"

For a couple of weeks I thought that this was an actual BREED and that we'd been very lucky finding a pedigree kitten in a pet-shop!

So, was this lady living in USA in the early 60's when Top Cat was screened?

I found this link - it's amazing how one show leads to another!

Re: What term is used for a "moggie" now?

I think so....she would have been in Chicago then, I think, it was before she came to work for the company in the late 80s. So possible, but wasn't that an afternoon show? I never saw it myself because of being at work.....she was a very nice woman; I didn't mean to sound as if I were putting her down....but she would call my DSH cats "alley cats" ...!!!! If I said it once I said it 100 times: "Barbara, "alley cat" is a condition, not a breed....
