Well folks that was more traumatic than I had thought it would be or could be Cannt fault the vet or the vet nurse, they were brilliant with her and me. They were so interested to know as much as they could about her, Bernie and how the two interact as well as Eva's general well being. Sadly though, we had no choice but to sedate her as she hit the bloody roof. The vet was very very good with her, grooming her in between times but she was just having none of it so sedation it was to be after a bit of a chat about it all. The vet had under estimated her weight for the amount of sedation required but we got there eventually and a good thing too as the dew claw we hadnt managed to clip was just touching her pad. She managed, under sedation to slash the vets hands with her hind claws and was, sadly, restrained by being bound tightly in a towel. She didnt bother about the vet having a good look at her teeth and a good feel around her tummy etc, just seems to be more of a feet thing she has. Clean bill of health, vet didnt make any comment on her weight, which is currently 6.7 Kilos. And he couldnt find any sign of the small lump I had felt a few days ago. Poor girl has to have no food until the sedation has totally worn off so she is wandering the house a little lost at the moment. The noises that cat can make though, honestly, its enough to wake the dead |

Thank goodness you both got through the visit in one piece! Poor Eva, she really does hate going to the vets doesn't she? Glad they managed to clip her dew claw and so pleased that otherwise she has a clean bill of health.. Pour yourself a stiff drink now Elaine! |
