Re: Some new additions.

well, pipin, the pony, is home and what a sorry state he is in. his front feet aren't too bad, but his back feet are like turkish slippers and he is right back on his heels, he also is lame on the back left but this may sort itself out when his feet are trimmed. he is very thin and his mane and tail are badly matted. He is a dark chestnut with white legs and a brown and white mane, with white on his neck, and quite cobby looking, i think he will be quite eyecatching when he is tidied up. i've got some photos so will post them when we get them on the computer.
he loaded into the horse box like he'd done it all his life and is now settling in the stable, he seems very quiet, i'm not sure if he is just a nice pony or he is so poorly there is no fight left. he's had some carrots, he's in a nice deep bed of straw, has water and hay and we will leave him to settle today. the blacksmith wants the vet to see him before he does anything, so it will be a vet visit tomorrow and the blacksmith is coming on wednesday to trim his feet. keep your fingers crossed there is nothing serious, i'm fond of him already, he has such a calm eye.

Re: Some new additions.

I do hope something can be done to help Pipin, what a shame he was left so long without the attention he badly needed.. It must be so painful for him with feet like that too..

At last he has found someone who will care and look after him, good luck with him Farthing, I'm sure you will work wonders with him.

Sending him buckets full of healing vibes....

I hope your hand is ok after your op too...

Re: Some new additions.

meet pippin,

his front feet,

his back feet,

and how thin he is,

thanks mags, i think, as long as we get his feet sorted, he will be fine, it won't take much, just a bit of time and effort, we'll take it t his pace.

Oh farthing! He looks a lovely boy - do so hope that he recovers well. Bet he'll feel miles better after his feet are taken care of. He will have every chance with you looking after him. How could anyone neglect him so???? He could be such a handsome animal.
