Re: Well rested Wednesday- Daily

Really interesting to know about solpadeine. For that reason (general addictiveness, not just of solpaeine) I avoid taking pain killers if possible. Don't think I ever took painkillers (minus calpol as a child!) until I was about 20 for an awful hangover headache. My thinking is if you're in pain its for a reason and your body is wanting to limit what you to until you've naturally healed. So if I have a headache I'll drink more water and avoid alcohol and coffee till it's gone. It's just in this case it's gone on for a lot longer. Which is why Angie's suggestion of eye-strain is really interesting and useful! I probably won't take solpadeine. I'm glad to report that the headache has now been gone for 2 hours! And I'm going to the gym later so hopefully the light exercise will help me feel better generally.

Angie, I love that long, loud meeeooowww's they do when they're hungry and want more. So demanding but they do it in such a loveable way

Re: Well rested Wednesday- Daily

Hi, all! Sunny and 17 degrees here, 21 by afternoon! Just lovely, but our weather is so changeable, there may be snow Saturday with the temps hovering near 0. But as DM said the sun is getting stronger and the daylight longer every day! Felt lazy today so slept in and skipped the market; just pottering around.

Angie, wonderful that dear Merlin is yowling for some food! Meep, I too avoid taking painkillers if at all possible; think the eye exam is an excellent idea. Interesting that companies must pay for it; wish we had that here. Although as a senior on Medicare mine are paid for now (80%, medigap insurance picks up the rest). Are anyone's snowdrops emerging from the recent snows?

Stay warm and dry, remember the quiz tonight at 8!

As a result of finding food that Merlin really likes, I need to apologise to Kazz, as I had said to her in a PM that Merlin was eating but not a great deal. It is now nearer the truth to say that he is eating very well - he is on his 3rd foil tray today already!

Thanks to Sainsbury's!

Have a great day every one and I'll catch you all later.
It's when they lie on top of you that you realise just how heavy they can be.

Hope all went well

Angie, I do have -2.00 short-sightedness but usually wear contacts or glasses so I don't feel my eyes are strained although it is something i never though of. I am due an eye test too, so I will definately look into work paying for it, although I'm not sure if they'd agree with that! (Charitable company, although not a charity, just government funded.)
meep - I think eye tests in Scotland are now free. But it may be employer has to pay %age of the cost of the lenses now.

(Merlin has just come in and given the longest miaowwwww I've ever heard. Think he wants MORE FOOD!)
So pleased that Merlin has a good apetite just now.

Having a lazy chip shop tea tonight. Road is icing up again - I slithered down it this morning.

Enjoy the rest of the day folks.

Does Cassie like all the varieties of Perfectly Meaty? Merlin loves the chicken and turkey; seems to like the salmon but does not prefer it to the chicken and turkey; I have not tried the lamb and something or the tuna. Consequently I am buying the individual trays rather than the varieties selection box.

Cassie has the Perfectly Meaty with prebiotics pouches, chicken and lamb......... not sure if they are the same as the trays that Winston has

Re: Well rested Wednesday- Daily

Hi all.
Late reply again, this nightly medication increase is really kicking my butt. I'm sleeping 12 to 13 hours on it and finding it hard to get out of bed. At least I'm rested though!
A little weary as one of my daytime medications will be stopped today per my doctors instructions (she's trying to decrease my amount if possible) and I'm worried about the withdrawl side effects. Hopefully I will feel better without it rather than worse. Fingers crossed...
Once again starting chores late today, then will probably just relax and read..ordered some new books today from the library and can't wait to pick them up this weekend. I wouldn't survive without my books.
Weather still very mild..just had a very short mist of snow yesterday..temperatures still nice but cold enough to make a good excuse to stay inside with the furkids!
Have a great day all!

Re: Well rested Wednesday- Daily

I hope they can get your meds adjusted so you can both get a restful night's sleep and your energy levels back. Sounds sort of tricky to get the right balance. I agree 100% about books!
