Re: Rainy bank holiday monday

DM, what's the difference between catnep and catnip? I Googled it and it seems to be the same plant, Nepenta cataria ......??? Before mine seeded itself all over I kept it in a hanging basket because the neighborhood cats loved it to death otherwise ....

Re: Rainy bank holiday monday

I really don't know DM. I too googled with the same result
However, I got the catnep from a stall with at least a hundred different herbs and it was next to catnipand looked a little different. It doesn't look the same as the thriving catnip I already have and which Bentley studiously ignores; it has a slightly larger slightly wider and less serrated leaf - no flowers yet. Assuming it thrives and flowers I'll try to remember to put up some pics.
The catnep was labelled as mildly hallucinagenic! (to humans I assume) and attractive to cats; the catnip was labelled with the latin name but didn't say anything about cats.
So, to answer your question -

Re: Rainy bank holiday monday

Interesting! Are you going to make some catnep tea and check out the hallucinagenic properties?
