Thanks Eileen however y motto is if it can't survive a boisterous Stafford and a few attacks by random footballs(curtesy of nephews and nieces) and my accidental treading on them as I step away from the set path...then its hard luck.....evrything that has any sentimental value is hardy enough to come back and if too tender I wil replace it with something else.

Angie I am lightly to young to have appreciated Geoff although my Mom was a avid fan. But having seen her recordings on video of him I appreciate that comment very much....gardening in my opinion hav to chnage and fit in with us not vice versa.... one of my reasons for taking up the grass was to little reward for far to much effort in a small area like mine.
A quick sweep and the area is done whereas before I was in the garden for about 4 hour+ trying to keep it good, okay my idea of good is not everyone's...but thats the problem...
