I too have a cat that rarely comes downstairs and we've had her, and her brother, from being 8 weeks old. Molly is a very cautious cat and so we just let her have her space. If you reach forward to pet her she will run away, but if she's in her basket when petted, she will purr like crazy. I think your cat has already come a long way from such a rotten start, well done on looking after her so well but I'm not sure you're going to be able to change her into being more cuddly. |

Thanks for posting those photos - they are both lovely looking cats. You have obviously got a very strong bond with both of them and you just want one big happy furry family but ...... I think you are probably right, Fizzle's recuperation time crated downstairs may be what has stayed with her. Very strange about the rats! |

Hi and welcome to Catsey, You have two beautiful cats. I have had 4 ferals over the years. One turned into a real loving home cat, one would let me touch her - just, the other two were a bit like frizzlecat. I think you have come a long way with her and perhaps you might need to accept that she is always going to be a little remote from you. I hope that the advice given about feliway and rescue remedy helps a little. |
