This is a fairly good description of a Chelsea Bun - they are enriched dough with fruit (not sure about candied peel, as I don't like that much!) "An individually-sized yeast-cake, filled with a mixture of dried and candied peel. They were particularly popular during the 18th and 19th century, when London's 'Chelsea Bun House' was a favourite meeting place." They are sort of rolled up a bit like a Swiss roll ......... and are generally de........licious! Told you I was old Tink! |
