I remember reading that somewhere too, Shelley; didn't pay too much attention as I don't use plastic. I think the article suggested metal bowls. |

I read that too but because there is a theory that it is porous enough to harbor bacteria. My holistic cat care books recommend metal/ceramic. |

I use bowl, have a fair mixture of depths. Tend to put the wet food in shallow ones. Liquid or dry in deeper ones. Kittens still manage to make a fair mess - hoping they get a bit tidier with age! |

Posh is a very messy eater, I blame her lack of dentition, but she's a spiller. I have tried shallow bowls, saucers and plates but she noses the food off them all. Because of her flat face she gets fed up stooping over so I elevate her bowl/plate on an upturned bowl, to save her bending too far. The queen that she is, she likes being had fed, of course |

Did you see PP that Pet Planet now offer for sale a bowl especially designed for Persian and BSH cats with flat faces? They have grooves in them which is meant to keep the food in place. Whatever will they think of next? |
