Re: Saturday daily

Tink, did you get a pic of Hestia guarding her stash of mice? Photo op, girl!

Kazz, Columbus Day originally celebrated the so-called discovery of America (ignoring the Vikings who really got here first); heavily promoted by our large Italian American community. But as more has become known over the years about the exploitation and treatment of the First Americans (Indians), it has been pretty much downplayed these days; degenerated to just a day off and for stores to have huge sales.

Edited: Gin is one of the major food groups!

Re: Saturday daily

Sorry, no pic Eileen--was scatterbrained last night
Shelley, some places are more extensive than others.
When I lived in CA, it was mostly a huge pumpkin patch where the family went and everyone got to pick out their own pumpkin to decorate/make into a jack o lantern for Halloween.
Here in WA they do a bit more in this area and there is usually a corn maze to walk through, a hay ride through the owners' farmland, of course the pumpkin patch itself, holiday crafts, and fresh cider and pies made on the farm.
Potatoes Romanoff for dinner tonight

What a lovely reason to have to take a sleeping pill because you are Happy

Very pleased to hear it you deserve it after a rough year.

Eileen thanks for the Columbus info.
