Nylabones?

Carrots are a real hit here too!

Thanks for your advise - we may just have to go to P@H this afternoon and take Monty for a bit of socialisation. I have a bit of a list now!!!

Poppy likes her nylabone and they are helpful to keep their teeth clean. I am always wary of raw hide chews, but give ours pigs ears which they love. I would never give them anything that had colour in it either. I dont think you can beat a raw meaty bone, great for chewing!

Raw carrots are a hit here too and also an apple is a much appreciated gift on occasion either whole in Sal's case she bites of chunks and chews. Or when they were small I cut bits off mine and gave them that way.
Sal also has a sunday dinner so to speak, which consists of a bit of themeat we are having or dog food mixed in with cooked veg, she has whatever we are having and a bit of potato and gravy but, she will eat any cooked veg, Carrots, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Corn, Green beans, Peas, Potatoes, and adores on occasion I am having it she will have cheese sauce too.

However thats a bit off track her most prized toy ever is a hard ball, but she only has that when we go out to the park and then not everytime depends where we are going, but her most prized "allowable" toy is her kong.

I'm confused about teething. When we picked Monty up from the breeder his little teeth were just coming through and obviously they have continued to grow up. I understand that dog dentition is like humans in that they have "milk" teeth and adult teeth begin to appear around 5/6 months. I think that Monty may be having a bit of soreness with his milk teeth .... but I have been told it's not "teething" on another forum. So I'm confused!

Dogs start to lose their milk teeth around 3 months of age and have adult teeth by approx 7 months.
Kwame is 16 weeks and has been losing his for a few weeks now, i found two on the floor tonight, he will put them under his pillow for the tooth fairy, lol

I always gave my pups nylabones and they last for ages, are safe and are usually well used. Also carrots are god and for a pup with a sore mouth can be put in the fridge first.

I never give any of the rawhide/pig ears type chews as not only can you not find out source but also I find that the dog chews and slurps to make it soggy, tries to swallow it and often starts to choke which worried me somewhat.

I usually left pup with a variety of nylabone shapes and flavours.

What's the going rate for puppy teeth? Hope Kwame's tooth fairy is in a generous mood!!!
