My boy's would probably be delighted, they have never had a little sister before, they are all spayed so she would be quite safe..
Hubby is a different story, I know what he would say, couldn't I say I found her??

Perhaps you could cook hubby an extra special meal

Perhaps raid your underwear collection

or perhaps you could say you got up in the morning and she had been dumped on your doorstep crying and shivering

I don't have an underwear collection PK, apart from my thermals....Like the last suggestion best..Could always say I found her while walking across the fields with the dogs...If he is away he will just see her all nice and clean when he comes back..

Only problem with that is, she is a plump healthy little girl....Hubby would believe it because we always get boy cats, he would never believe I actually picked a girl cat..
