Re: Quiz - 9th June 2010

Not sure who's left. Have we exhausted Q8?

Tink, Finding Neverland has me howling with tears each time I see it. We watched it with my 6 year old (loves Peter Pan) the other week, and he was quite baffled by my tears, bless him.

Re: Quiz - 9th June 2010

Are we ready for question 9?

Eileen got maximum points there with the Jean Paul Satre answer; Angie with 2 points.

Question 9 is posed by my brainy 6 year old who has been playing chess at school for the last 2 years. I had to double-check the answer and he was right!!

The shortest game of Chess can be won in how many moves for one opponent?

Re: Quiz - 9th June 2010

I haven't played chess since I was in my 20's (and never very good at it!), don't remember what it could be. Probably something quite low, like 8?

Re: Quiz - 9th June 2010

I do remember that "checkmate" comes from the Persian Shah Mat, the King is Dead. Odd the trivia you remember ......

But that's NOT the answer!
