What a transformation DM......it's surprising what you can do with a garden if you set your mind to it.......it looks really nice!!
I noticed you have plenty of logs in for that cosy fire of yours this winter

Thanks Mags!
Yes, got in a load of logs a few weeks back. Azz says it's going to be the coldest winter for ages but i don't know how he knows that!
We're prepared anyway!

This is the transformation between a tiny scraggy bit of ground behind the house to our very pleasant and very very easy maintenance makeover. The decking etc is supposed to be non bird friendly but we have hundreds of birds in the hedge and I keep the bird-bath full so they can get a drink

1. Before

2. Before

3. - 14. various stages of work and the finished (very sterile looking) product. Note the cats and late dog getting in on the act! It's much softer now with various planting and tubs.

Here's the bird bath in use on a gloomy day (excuse washing!)

And here is a furniture set we've recently purchased

and after 'treatment'

and here's Tizzie enjoying the sun

Sorry there's so many. Hope you find it interesting. I'd advise anyone with a tiny space to do something similar to maximise the use and minimise the work. I would love to have a couple of acres and leave lots wild etc.........but I haven't, so make do with our tiny suntrap!

PS Love everyone else's pics - more please!
Wow DM! looks brill and I havent see the pics with the garden furniture/logs before!

Yes its meant to be really cold this winter - coldest in yonks!
(I hate the cold!)

Well I'm jealous of you all I have a useless back garden. Yours are all brilliant.

The use of space in yours is really good DM.
A section of mine taken in the summer this year trying to show the Acer and my sundance which had just had a trim Don't laugh to loud.

No laughter required - your plants are lovely.
The lovely acer brought a pang - I left a beautiful one at our old house

Re: Your Garden Pics..

Thanks all its the only bit I have left with the two "dogs" both being bitches the grass had to go in such asmall space a bit useless anyhow. So I replaced it with gravel and the slabs. The rest is paved - eay to keep tidy - we can wash it down and no mud to wade through so it suits me.

Thanks all its okay and my Acer is my baby DM I rescued him as a twig about 12/13 years ago and he now repays me ever summer with such beautiful colour to the right of the Acer is "baby acer" a light green one just behind white flowers he starts green then goes orange in autumn he is about 4 years old now - another twig I rescued
