Age and "baggy" bellies

India arrived with a baggy belly, so I can't be accused of over feeding her. Little Melba was 16 1/2 yrs old and was still as slim as a kitten. She was spayed at 7 months old. Nelli Kim went baggy but that is the only other one I can think of although Sasquatch just got big all over, he was an enormous ginger tom. No can't remember any of the others going baggy. Logoes.

I think a lot of it is down to the individual cat and its genes or whatever. All my cats have been treated the same, neutered at similar ages etc - some had bellies, some didn't

Bit like people really............

Well my OH has had a saggy bellie since about a year after I met him. Just thought he was coming out in sympathy with me will I was expecting

. Mine's away but he stil has his

. That's with karate twice a week. So much for exersice

Very good!

Jaffa has got a slight flabby belly. My sisters can has got a LOT of flab, almost touches the ground

I thought it was due to speying too?

My siamese have hangey belly's, and the vet nurse told me it was due to spaying, they are only 10months and 16months old...

Ooh, still not sure how Murphy ended up with a saggy belly then if the general consensus is that it is due to spaying?

His brother has a nice firm belly but Murphy's (10 months) is quite noticeably saggy and droopy!

I was told all Cats have a "shopping bag" its the excess flesh they need when jumping and stretching

Making me feel much better (and it makes sense I suppose, they do seem to become really long when the jump and stretch).
