Re: Oven cleaners

Emma, the cleaner I used is called Dr. Beckmann Rescue Active Gel oven cleaner. It says: 'No nasty smells, Not harmful, and it works'. It did work too and you don't have to wear protective clothing!! I think I bought it in Tesco's.

Re: Oven cleaners

Well the Oven Mate turned up from Lakeland and well....I am amazed, painted some of this (it is a thick gel) on the top of my oven left it about 35 mins (you can leave it between 3 mins and 3 hours) and just wiped it off, and all of the dirt had gone I just rinsed it with cold water.

It doesn't have any smell at all, it was easy to apply (with the brush it comes with) but you do have to wear gloves (provided)

I can certainly say that cleaning my oven with this stuff will no longer be a chore and will no doubt be done more often.

Makes you realise how terrible Mr Muscle is,,,,

Re: Oven cleaners

Well you might have to leave it on for 3 hours then Fran lol I wish I had bought this a week ago would have saved myself hours last Sunday.

You can actually see it lifting the burnt on marks on the oven as they go a light brown colour.

NEVER going near Mr Muscle again...."no scraping my a*se!!"
