Thank you, John! Well, I'm hoping to become more active here within a few days. I've been fiddling with the Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing (BOINC) quite a bit lately, changing projects and so forth; and the fine-tuning part has consumed a lot of time. One project, Einstein@Home, deals with quasars; another, SETI@home, involves reception of signals from deep space; and the third one I'm participating in, ClimatePrediction.Net, deals with just that — climate prediction. I just got around to requesting a certificate from the University of California for my SETI@home work: So, there! I encourage everybody to check out those projects and see if they'd like to contribute some of their computing-system power to the worldwide effort. End of sales pitch! =^..^= |
