Well, salt is sodium chloride which is an acid so I would think it burnt the poor slug by drawing out all its moisture ............ that's only my guess mind!

They sometimes explode when salt is poured on them (dont ask).

What a horrible way to die. Although I detest the things i tend to run from them rather that harm them but have heard of people doing it.
So Mags, Miss Smarty Pants, how come they take 4 to 12 hours to mate and in my house it takes 4 to 12 seconds?

Slugs love beer! Put a saucer of stale beer in the garden to trap them...(awful waste of good beer IMO....)

Why would i want to trap them Eileen?

I know this thread was moved to pets and other animals but I dont plan to keep them

Maybe it takes so long because they are slimey and they get stuck together!!
