What did you do with it Mol.
I saw Smudge in the garden starring at it & it was sat a couple of feet away dead still - then it just waddled off into the garage - it's mother was screaming after it, but had no way of getting him back. We don't know where the nest is & didn't know where to put him. He seems unharmed (very lucky) with Smudge a few feet away to ever see the light of day again. So we put him in the spare pen. He's had 3 worms for tea & is flying a little bit. What do we do with him now?

he can fly around a bit & he's ok at it (kind of) but John said he needs his mommy to feed him, so I said well you'll just have to be his mommy then. & he fed him some worms

Re: Guess what's in my cat pen....

Blackbirds spend a few days hiding in the undergrowth when they first fledge, takes them a few days to get the hang of flying, I would leave it in the pen till the morning, the one I had was in my front porch for 2 days..I went into feed it and it was sitting on top of my Yucca!! So opened the front door and she flew out..Once it can fly it will be safe and will probably join its siblings...
