Re: Are you a Turkey or a Goose

We always have turkey and veggie something for my son and daughter. I know it is totally irrational as I do eat turkey, but I just couldn't bring myself to eat goose or duck!

Kim, duck is very tasty, a little fatty but very tasty. I have never had goose but would like to try it

Roast potatoes and any roast veg are scrumptious in goose fat - Sainsbury's sell it for £2.99, maybe Asda is cheaper

Re: Are you a Turkey or a Goose

Christmas Day is a bit of a non-event in our house. Before the boys came along we always used to go to a restaurant and spend most of the afternoon/evening there. Christmas Eve is the main celebratory day (me being mainland European) and fish is always eaten, together with many other smaller, delicious courses.

Boxing Day has always been the day for hubby's children to come over. This is still the case (although both grandmothers also join us now). There's no hard and fast rule for this meal - we've had all sorts of things; pheasant, goose, duck, partridge, etc. but we may have had turkey when his children were smaller (can't really remember).
