Much appreciated though - I never much like googling anything with s.e.x in it - add kitten and oh my , though the PDSA site was helpful, and did the ; and ! explanation. I guess Sandra is right though - it's maybe more difficult if she has got all the same gender. |

Ok, I've just taken lots of photos - but as expected you can't really see clear enough on the photo. But I have got 4 males & 1 female. All the males have quite obvious testicles, perhaps more so at this age than at a few weeks old. The girl has hardly any gap between her bottom & her genitals. Summary ~ Oh boy!! right the girls bits are all very close with no gap. The boys bits are spread out more & obviously he has a ***** & his tescticles. Note from Mr S. As I was trying to get the photos of a male - he said quote - "it's pretty obvious - there's his p***k & there's his b******s" |

Sounds like there might be 5 Bettys there then? Never mind - I'll be able to get a brother from the ginger tom source! |

Maybe you should go see them and help them be sexed, DM Don't give up hope until you've seen their little bits for yourself and are sure they're all betties And as you say, otherwise you can get a brother from the same place you're getting Chester from! Best of luck! |

It is easiest to sex kittens at birth. Thereafter until a few weeks old it becomes more difficult. Testicles are not always obvious in kittens and even females can have lumps and bumps that resemble testicles If sexing isn't done at birth then the breeder may have to wait a few weeks before all becomes obvious. I have never had a problem sexing kittens or puppies. Perhaps I am just a bit obsessed with examining genitalia I find it easiest to hold the kitten upright and lift it's tail. If it's a female kitten, the two 'openings' are quite close together. If it's a male kitten they are much further apart and you may/maynot see tiny testicle sacs. I agree it is much easier if you have both sexes in the same litter to compare. Fingers crossed for you that there is a boy in there for you DM! |
