Re: Shrove Tuesday

Me three with the upbringing

I just like mine with lashings of lemon juice. Sadly I now have to be creative with things like buckwheat pancakes as OH has a wheat intollerance and it makes him quite unwell.

Our John Lewis has a pancake bar in their food hall and I do occasionally sneak in there when shopping on my own

Re: Shrove Tuesday

Boring caster sugar (only a little) and lemon juice (lots) here too. I also like pancakes as the base of savoury dishes too. And crepes suzette are still nice, even if they're wildly unfashionable

Yola, my Mom was from the German area of Pennsylvania and they always used buckwheat flour...I think I was almost an adult before I realized that pancakes could be made with something other than buckwheat flour! I still use it when I (rarely) make pancakes,

I have lots of lemon with sugar sprinkled over the top. I then roll it up and eat it! YUM!!

Ive just whisked the eggs, milk and flour together. I'm waiting for Hugh to make them now- I have never been brave enough!

Re: Shrove Tuesday

I forgot until now but love to have them with sugar and lemon or chocolate. I will have to see if my mum can make me a few when she pop over tomorrow.
