Re: Totally gutted this evening (following news re Farepak hampers)

Farepak was part of a much bigger organisation which, inter alia, runs Kleenezee. So, if you want to make a gesture (put up a metaphorical 2 fingers to them) don't ever buy anything from that company and tell all your friends/family to boycott them too.

I don't like most of their stuff anyway - I think it is naff!!

Apparently, the vouchers from the fund should be posted out by 18 Dec. Will help a little, it is very kind of these companies to donate to something they were not responsible for !

Our local paper is holding collections for those that have lost out in our area. Hopefully other local media is doing likewise. It's only fair . . . a bit of redistribution of funds during the 'season of good will'.

Bringing this one up yet again
I was in Tesco this morning and took the opportunity to look at their savings scheme. It's very simple - buy stamps at £1 each whenever you want and affix them to a card. Use them at any time, for any Tesco product (presumably including their new catalogue operation Direct). Put 49 on tha card and they give you the 50th. So, that's 2% interest, which isn't too bad at all. And it's totally flexible.

Hope that might help some of you savers.

Yes DM, I have been using this scheme for a few years now. Really helps at Christmas time and I don't really notice the odd £1 here and there.
