Re: Goodbye "oh m'darlin" Clementine

Quite understandable Luke. Not sure how you can help your tom "kittens" to start taking a more forward looking attitude. Guess time and then perhaps some treats when they come down off the wardrobe?

So sorry to hear about this Luke.

I remeber Clementine from Dogsey - just like Ralph was Fingal's twin - Clementine was our Brambles twin.

Re: Goodbye "oh m'darlin" Clementine

Thanks folks, it's still so quite without her. With william now taking mere lodgings here again (he stayed at home for a few nights with Max around the time clem was pts), its so so quiet with just the one "full time" cat, Clementine really was such such a diamond, full of character and life! I know it was the right thing to do, but still...

Re: Goodbye "oh m'darlin" Clementine

Luke I know a little of how you're feeling re' our loved ones leaving a big gap in our days and nights. My darling Maine Coon Putney was like a child to me, we communicated well and we were very close and when he was gone I had to be brave, but his loss was felt deeply, by all. The other cats saw his body after he was pts so they could see where he was 'gone' and they went up and sniffed him. Chesi in particular felt his loss.

Part of the grief process Luke is adjustment, still expecting them to be there, in their usual place, catching glimpses of shadows, your mind playing tricks on you or the spirit still lingering, who knows. I felt numb for a while, angry, sad, guilty, the barrage of emotions, couldn't bring myself to cuddle the other cats for a while for fear of losing them too and going through it all again. One thing I can say the others will take precedence over your grief, you will get closer to the other animals who you share your life with and they too will become even closer and give you comfort, but you will always find yourself thinking about your dear girl, in time the thoughts will become less frequent as you adapt to not seeing her around anymore, but yes Luke we never forget those extra special ones.
