Re: FIV positive kitten

Kittens tested that young do need to be retested Smudgely, even from the accurate test, as they are covered by mums antibodies from feeding - 14 or 16 weeks is the recommended age (I always forget which of the two). Fingers crossed for him.

Yes he could have antibodies from mom, but he has not been tested for antibodies he's been tested for the virus & the virus is in his blood. He has got FIV.

If one already chosen will the people still take him. Poor little chap - yet maybe not what we consider to be a problem he'll ever know so will carry on as normal.
I had 6 kittens tested - the 4 black ones plus the tabby & white plus the ginger one. 6 of them have homes - 1 doesn't. By some weird coinsidence - the positive one is the one who is not reserved, so luckily noone needs to be disapointed.
& on a postive note - a lady is interested in polly & I mentioned the kitten to her & she may be interested in him too... now wouldn't that be good if she had them together.
She's viewing them tomorrow.

Re: FIV positive kitten

Well well well thats lovely, wouldn't that be nice I've always thought a Mom should have a kitten to go with, perfection if it happens. If the woman is interested in Polly I would not think she would hesitate to take on a kitten I would.

Re: FIV positive kitten

I really hope so.
The lady has a friend in the branch & she phoned him to ask if we would home a cat with her in a flat - he said...." well actually......" & told her all about Polly. She said she was interested & he said he'd get me to call her. Then I called her & told her all about Polly - then I said "oh & another thing.........." & told her about the baby.
