Re: Son in hospital...

Not knowing must be so worrying for you Moli. However, I am sure they wouldn't have sent him home if they were really concerned. Hope they can find out what's wrong and he is soon better. Could always be a nasty virus (isn't everything these days! )

Re: Son in hospital...

You may be right Kim, A 21 year old, healthy young man does not collapse for nothing, I am surprised they chucked him out so soon, probably needed the bed!!That is the first time he has been in hospital too...

Re: Son in hospital...

Maybe it is appendix and he is a bit like you, so it will take a time to really develop.

The only thing I can remember is this; if you press slowly and gently but firmly on your tummy, then release the pressure quickly, and it hurts more 'coming out' than 'going in', that is indicative of peritonitis ... so never mind being sent home once etc etc - get back to A&E asap!

Hope he's better this morning.

Re: Son in hospital...

Sorry to hear about your son Moli and they diagnose the problem ASAP....things like trapped wind and IBS can cause excruciating pain. When I was in France I had violent stomach pain and was rushed to hospital, scanned, x-rayed, bloods done etc and they came to the conclusion that it was constipation!!

Funny that Ruth, I was sent for xrays because I had really acute stomach pains, turned out the same as you...Constipation!
