In a way I miss not seeing them at the zoo and letting children learn about them, but living in a cage, albeit a large one, is no life for birds that are meant to be soaring free.....

I agree Eileen .........they need their freedom. Unfortunately many people are unlikely to ever see them now in the flesh (or should that be in the feathers)..

That's one of the things I love about this forum; we all can learn so much: I'd never heard of pink footed geese, and some of you didn't know turkey vultures.......

And the same for me: like the blue tits you posted pics of recently; always nice to learn about other peoples wildlife. We don;'t have hedgehogs, which I think are as cute as buttons! But we have possums and raccoons and coyotes right here in the City! And white-tailed deer and black bears in the suburbs!

Black Bears!! thats something DM, would love to see them...We have deer, in fact they are quite common where I live, see them often....

I just couldn't imagine living anywhere that close to black bears Do they do much damage Eileen?
