Yes that's about it.
She is friendly & likes to be stroked, but tells you when she's had enough & she did try to bite / scratch the vet taking a blood sample (to test for FIV / FeLV)

Funnily enough my mother-in-law has just returned from 2 weeks away & asked me this morning if we had many cats in, I said yes - quite a lot. She then asked if we get paid to have them, when I said no - she pulled a face (she's good at that) as if to suggest we were mad to look after them without payment

Well if there werent 'mad' peole out there to look after them they'd be out on the streets or PTS. So at elast 'mad people like you are wiling to give them a chance, and somewhere cosey to stay with nice din dins until a forever home can be found.

Once I am feeling better my local CPL are coming around to discuss if they can afford for me to have a cat pen. I only have the space for one though, but it would be one less cat on the streets.

And isnt the love they give you, and watching them go from shy little uns, to friendly cats moving to good new homes payment enough?
Probably not enough for some.

Surely it's the only responsible way to have serial kitten-litters (If you really love the clatter of teeny-tiny claws but can't afford to buy the several castles it would take to house them all.) and enjoy the company of many different cats without said castle-collection. If you can bear letting them go to new owners - that would be my stumbling-block.

CP usually pay to run the power supply from house to pen, to construct hard standing and also to erect the pen and equip it - although much equipment comes from donations. This all takes time and costs money.

They said the pens are expensive and they would have to look into if they ahve the funds.
If they dont I might ask thier permission to try and raise the funds myself, using the CPL name.
Dont know how I would do it yet, but worth a shot.
