Think I would be best with a medium too then, Leo and Merlin have very thick dense coats...

Yeah sounds like you would need a medium.We used it on the dogs today and it fetched loads out them too.It really is the best thing I brought since having any of the animal

Me too with having the Labs, maybe I might need two?? The Meezers are quite small and short haired but the labs bigger with a lot of hair loss at moulting??

Fran i would prnb get a large for the dogs and a small/medium for the cats

I have a question here: do "small" and "medium" refer to the width of the combing area or to the depth that it reaches? I had assumed it meant width, but am wondering now due to these questions..,,,

Yes, it's the width Eileen.

I think a small would do for any sized cat and a larger one for dogs.

I have a small and it does for all my cats, big and small, long and short haired

Ooh.... this is interesting! Are these mainly for long/medium haired cats or could they be used on a short haired like Cassie (who sheds a lot & is prone to hairballs!)?

hello mags
Jerry is only short hair and it works brilliantly with him he sheds alot too and used to leaveme little hair balls around quite often but sinc ive had the furminator I have seen 1.
