I have 4 cats and 2 dogs Quote:
I don't know the real facts but it happened to me this year - Tippy Toes was diagnosed with feline leukaemia and died of it I had to have all my cats tested - I was really lucky and she hadn't passed it on to the others - but I think its a high possibility because with the feline leukaemia it is passed on through saliva (bites etc) and sharing litter trays (this is what I was told ) and sharing food bowls which in a multi cat household they all do that. |

I have 1 dog 2 cats (& lots of fosters) 2 bunnies 8 chickens fish As for cat diseases - I know several people who have got more than 8 cats & none have had any probs with diseases. With the rescue cats we routinely B/T them all & it is very, very rare that any are positive to FL or aids. Some of the cats tested are from colonies of ferals living outside. I think if sensible hygiene is adhered to - & regular imunisation is given, the risk is minimal regardless of how many cats are in the house. |
