Re: poorly

well, i just tucked her in for the night ( yeah like i wont be down out of bed every half hour to cehck her). she had anothre drink.
cos of her teeth she lsot a lot of weight though, is so boney bless her, been feeding her special powder from vets, that i make into amush with warm water, and she put some weight on again. I think her teeth are the problem, i remember now the last ver saying her gums were red alst week. My feeling is something ging on under them teeth / gums. my MIL had one the same and they had to take allit's teeth out, but that sounds horrid, have u eer seen a bunny teeth? they about 2-3 times longer UNDER the gums than on top.
I jsut hope she can hang on until morning now, wehn I have decided to take her and Mr d to a diff vets

Re: poorly

hi, well we went to a diff vets.
The bunny was given an antibiotic injection and a paink killer one, she was given some powdered food. We were told the outcome looks grim at this moment in time, and are to take her back in the morning. She is not to go outside, she's cold apparantly, due to being thin and poorly, so she is indoors, and as instructed by vet, having a hot water bottle, kept warm. ( I Dont have a snuggle pad).
MR Darcy is to go in soon ( i couldnt take him today, as can only carry one pet box at a time when on my own, and my lift let me down). Vet said he will check him over, and if there nothing obvious he can see wrong they will arrange for him to be sent to the next twon over to have a head x-ray to check for any ( forgive me here if i get it wrong) deep rooted inside infections. ( Costing me a whopping £52)
Todays bill for bunny was 26.50, making over a hundred spent on her in the past 6 weeks. It getting to the point where I am seriously going to have to say enough is enough i cant afford to keep going on like this.

Not to mention the fact that this buny has been trying to struggle back to a decent weight and condition of health for 6 weeks. She picks up a little, then drops down alot. NObody is going to take her on as ill as she is, and I'm really stuck, i cant afford much more vetenary care bills for her, and the cat, but i cant not get them treated, and i cant do anything else about it. I am over an hours bus ride, and then a 35 minute walk from the nearest PDSA, so i'm stuck with HAving to pay for vets bills, and HAving to cope.

Hopefully i get a new job soon and things will be ok.

But anyway getting back to the point, bunny is comfy but very poorly, Mr Darcy is still sneezing boogers all over the place, but i feel happier with what this new vet has said to me
Thanks to u all for the advice and words of comfort. Only time will tell what happens to mrs bunny!

Re: poorly

I'm so sorry but I cant get my head round your vet. Why a head x-ray when if any it should be the chest? While teasting for flu type virus it would or should be a mouth swab. And this vet hasn't even seen the cat.
I'm so sorry your having money troubles but if you cant afford to treat your animals why are you getting another one?
I hope your wee rabbit pulls through I did think it sounded like wet tail. Hopefully the injection works.

Re: poorly

bunny died between 3am and 7 am
seh was alive at 3 cos i checked on her.

But on another note, a diff bunny has unexpectedly had babies. we counted 3 but didnt disturb the nest so arent entirely sure.

All i was saying about the vet bills was it was getting silly, i mean how many people can afford between £120 and £200 a month on vets bills, indefinatly?
NOrmally there isnt a problem treating them, but the fact that it has been constant vet bills once or twice a week for 7 weeks would put a strain on anybodys resorces.
