Actually, Luke, this reminded me of something I haven't thought of in a gazillion years: my Mom was a RN, & when she enlisted in the Army Nurse Corps in WWI, left her dog home with Grandma...Woodrow was an airedale (never see those any more here) named after the President, of course, and he used to steal things from clotheslines...sheets, towels, long johns, whatever and bring them proudly to Grandma, who was horribly embarrassed & had to go around the neighborhood returning things...so you've given me a double laugh today: your funny story & the memory of Woodrow!!  |
