Re: Stray tortie and newborn kittens!

Well last i heard she was just still restless...my aunty said shes going to give her another hour or so and if she hasnt settled its off to the vets...personally i think its just shes having a long'ish break between the kittens..it is her first litter n all so she may be a bit overwhelmed!

Re: Stray tortie and newborn kittens!

Still just the four...the vet called round earlier and said she can't feel anymore there BUT she also did say..that without scanning she couldn't be sure as she thought she felt a bump..but...
She just told my aunt to keep an eye on the mama and just watch for any suspicious signs again...the agitatednous (sp) could be due to it being her first litter and the four kittens she had being quite the large kits...

Re: Stray tortie and newborn kittens!

Luke, Maud was quite restless for about 24 hours after her kitts and I kept thinking there might be another in there, although I couldn't feel anything. All of a sudden she just settled down and has never looked back since. She did have the odd contraction too after the last kitt was born but they did stop after a short while...

Humans have contractions after birth as well of course, to "shrink" the uterus back into its normal size... Remember I hated those after my son was born, but they're remarkably easily forgotten once you fall in love with the sprog in question

Ohh how cute, lovely kits. She's a very trusting mum for a stray. I wonder if someone's missing her.
