Re: Time for a change

The nails look great, go for it Carly, I have been thinking on the same lines as you for a while now.....had hair trimmed a mo ago, I get that done every 6 wks and because of my job, I cannot have false nails, but because I am off work at the mo, I was gonna invest in some from Boots, I would love my teeth done too.

Hope Hubby approves on Thursday x

Re: Time for a change

Good for you Carly, I think we could probably all do with pampering ourselves a bit more now and again!
The nails look fab

30 is most definitely not too old to get braces, if you are prepared to put in the effort, there's no quick fix and it can take up to 2 years. I got my braces off about a year ago, I'm 26 btw, I still have to wear a retainer at night, its just like a gum sheild, and I have a wire stuck onto the back of my bottom teeth to keep them in place but its been one of the best things I've ever done for myself. I had to have 4 teeth taken out before I got the braces on, and it does hurt (not trying to put you off) but it was well worth it in the end.
Some surgeries will let you pay it monthly, I was quoted £2000 for the treatment I had, which was a full set of traintracks, that was a few years ago so I dont know how much it will be now. In the end I got mine on the NHS as my youngest child was still under a year old
It certainly wont do any harm to ask about it when you go for your checkup!

Good luck

Re: Time for a change

i had a brace when i was 14-16, not a fixed one though. hads it takenoff, and never wnet back! so I know all about the sore gums and feeling like you been hit in the mouth when it gets tightened uplol

i'll ask them when we go, but the new surgery isnt open yet, lived here 5 years with no dentists at all.

Nothing like a bit of pampering to make you feel better CJ. The nails look great and I certainly don't think you are too old to have something done about your teeth if you feel it would make a difference to how you look and feel - go for it!

Re: Time for a change

Won't long nails drive you up the wall, even if they're your own?
I wouldn't know, mine look dreadful even when short and won't improve with length. Combined effect of neglect and rock-climbing, so can't moan really.

I always keep mine short as long nails drive me nuts too.
