Re: Starting a New Journey

PrettyPolly, I wish you all the luck in the world, I really do. I am a Christian and my faith is very important to me. I know I couldn't live as a nun, but how fantastic that your calling is so very strong and that you are prepared to devote your life to GOD. I have been watching the series on TV about 4 women living for 6 weeks in a convent, it is fascinating. The nuns are extremely worldly-wise and down to earth; they certainly don't seem unhappy! I have been on a couple of week-end retreats with my church and the experience was amazing. I am sure you will find Hagrid a suitable happy home, please don't feel guilty. I really think Diddy Dawn/Diddy Hobbit's comments are unacceptable. My daughter after so many years of wanting to be a vet has decided that she wants to study religion, with a view to possibly entering the ministry. I agree that this is a special calling and thank you for sharing this news with us. Sorry, I really musn't ramble so much....!

Re: Starting a New Journey

PP - may I wish you all the luck in the world in your chosen vocation. Having been brought up a Catholic and having had significant pressure put on me by nuns in the early part of my education to follow holy orders, I have swung completely the other way and cannot reconcile the need for God in my life at this point in time.

However, notwithstanding that, the decision you make is a brave and selfless one and Hagrid will I'm sure find a good life in a new home. After all - you might end up resenting him if you felt you were not able to follow your heart when you most need to.

Re: Starting a New Journey

What a big decision to make. I'm an atheist myself, but I feel people should be free to exercise their faith in whatever way they see fit (short, of course, of hurting others over it!).

It sounds like your friend would be the ideal home for Hagrid, do let us know if that works out, and best of luck in your endeavour
