He is probably just happy for someone to give him some TLC, he can't have been happy scavaging for food, and as he is a cuddly boy, missed human contact.....So pleased you managed to catch him Emma... |

well done you for catching him and caring about him - hes one lucky cat. How did you manage to catch him? we've tried several times and no luck in catching the cat that was abandoned by my neighbour at leat hes getting fed but I just want to get him neutered and into a safe home. |

Emm, perhaps I was just lucky, but whilst feeding him I was talking to him the whole time, tried not to move too quickly and just tried to relax around him I think cats sort of sense when you are trying to catch them. I think you need to gain his trust first, with this one he was following me around the garden, but if I wanted him to come to me I showed him his food and gently called to him then put his food near him when he came over. So this evening once everything was set up in the shed (thanks to my mum for helping, that crate is heavy!) I shut the shed door and when he came into the garden I just got him into the shed and shut the door then he calmed down a bit and I managed to get him to eat the food in the crate and whilst he was doing that I slowly closed the crate door, THEN he realised what happened he tried to get out realised he couldn't and calmed down and ate a bit more food and then went to sleep on the towels we put in the crate. So Emm you really need to gain their trust first but make sure they are hungry when you go to trap him. I think you can also get traps as well not sure if you can borrow one from the CPL or not, perhaps somebody can clarify |
