You sure they won't just sell you a dog?

Does Cassie stretch/pluck at your current furniture Mags? If she doesn't I wouldn't worry about it. I got leather (and my sofas must be 8 or more years old now) specifically so it wouldn't suffer from cats sleeping on it etc. None of mine have gone near with their claws. Ever. At all.
I'm really suprised to see Whiskey's furniture.

She doesn't scratch the furniture as such DM but she will sit upright and stretch her front paws up it. Also she will lay down by the sofa and 'wiggle' along the length of it using her claws as grips to get from one end to the other!

Have you got the firm leather or the soft type DM?

Re: Cats In Trouble

You could use the double sided sellotape to keep her off it when you first get is Mags - that might wean her out of her bad habits

Re: Cats In Trouble

Hi Ive been using soft claws for years now, it was recomended to me by my vet. Theyre little plastic nail covers for cats that were designed to cover the claw in a plastic sheath. They are great and loads of celebrities swear by them. They have worked for me and all my friends use them, its a great training aid and you dont need them after you can train your cat not to continue scratching.

You can get them from this UK website www.spuk.com
