The £1 coin was introduced in 1984.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/d...00/2518637.stm I find the coin much better, the old notes used to get so tatty and dirty... I wish they would get rid of the 1p coin, I find them more of a hindrance.... |

Needs must...Imagine, a whole generation has grown up never knowing the convenience of the paper bill! Mags, the Treasury has also suggested doing away with the penny coin here, but once again a great public groundswell of opposition .... we don't like people messing with our money! |
