I have always been intrigued by the evolutionary process that has favoured some insects and snakes into producing poisons wholly disproportionate to their need to kill their prey.

I wonder if when the evolution process took place they "the spider/snake etc" were much much bigger or meant to catch bigger prey. It also amazes me that they kill/render paralized their prey with the venim but it does not hurt them when they ingest the creature.................fascinating.
