Re: All of us in pictures

Thankyou DM and Yola! I did have my hair really long for most of my teenage years, and only got it cut short last year as it's much easier to manage when I need to be looking 'neat' and frizz-free 5 days a week for work! When it's long it is lovely, but can mess-up easier. You can't wake up in the morning and run a brush through it to make it look neat. You either need to try and defrizz it with products (hard at the best of times!) or wash it. And for work I need to be neat, sooooo..... Also it's nice to have a change and all my old school friends who saw me with my Pre-Raph style hair said I suit it short too

It's funny you should mention the Pre-Raphelite look. I did Higher Art at school and for Self-Portrait I did myself all pre-raphelite-esque (although, obviously, not nearly as amazingly beautiful and life-like as the real pre-raph painters) but my hair does lend to that look!

It would be great if we could make this thread members only. Who do we ask, Mags?

I agree with Yola Ms Meep! Definitely more Rossetti than Austen, methinks!

Hello Meep, nice to meet you...

We no longer have a members only thread, I did ask if it could be moved in its earlier days but the answer was negative.

The only 'hidden' forum on here is for those members who join the Catsey Sponsor Scheme.....

Re: All of us in pictures

Thanks Angie! It's naturally very ringletty and when I grew it long, I used to get lots of thick ringlets - pretty much looked like a Victorian China Doll! I purposely prevent it from going ringletty by shaking my fingers through it and untwining them, as it does make me look really young and a bit stylised. No one believes they're natural either

I'll try and find a photo at home tonight of when it was longer and full of ringlets. No doubt in the next few years I'll grow it long again and make it ringletty. I used to encourage the ringlets and hate volume - how our tastes change!

Meep, lovely to see you! Why do people never look the way you've built up a mental picture of them? I had no idea you had such gorgeous hair....definitely a pre Raphaelite look! "The Blessed Damozel"!! I inherited my Dad's hair, unfortunately, thin, limp and impossible to do anything with.

Why thankyou DM! I have to say, you are blessed to not have greys as you rightly mentioned! And I love your lipstick, I could never pull it off!

I'm curious to know how you did imagine me before you saw the photos?

I wish I'd inherited my mums gorgeous natural dark red / auburn colour of hiar, but alas I got a blonde / mousey brown which needs highlights to dazzle. Can't win 'em all

Re: All of us in pictures

stitch_too, lovely to see you! your hair looks lovely and soft and shiney, just-cut hair is always so touchable and lovely!

yola, it is a bit! but i was so close, and yet so far! Luckily I got a mix of my mum and dads curls. My dad has coarse, afro-esque curls (he had a 'fro in his student years!) and my mum has wavy, windey fine hair. I got her very fine hair, but the intense ringlets. Too bad for the mousey brown. I was considering dying it auburn but apparently it's a nightmare to up-keep.
