It's looking great, Yola!

Good to see your boys taking an interest in the goings on...... especially Domi, he looks the proper little workman there!

Re: Yola's Allotment Thread :-)

Here is the result of last weekend's efforts! OH was busy thumping posts into the ground and stretching chicken wire across. The front is done and the back is 1/2 done (it's a time-consuming job)!

I spent much of Saturday decorating our shed door and putting up the workbench inside the shed. I've also put screws in within the shed to hang stuff up and things are getting organised in there (I like order)

Yesterday we finally planted 1 x blueberry bush and 1 x comfrey (to help with the compost) and the boys and I potted up some broad beans into little pots and put them in on our shed workbench in the sun. I hope they'll not get too cold in there. Also managed to dig a further 1 1/2 beds - busy!

The call of nature did get the better of me yesterday and I HAD to have a pee So locked shed door and paint pot came in handy . . . and I DID then pour it on the compost. OH has been ribbing me about it ever since!

Here are a couple of pics:

Hand-painted shed door

Fencing, beds and my stone soakaway around the communal tap

It's such a great thing to do isnt it Yola?
Just wait till you start taking things home to eat ... or maybe better still, eating strawberries and raspberries straight off the plants!

Love your artwork on the shed door! Lots of work there, but everything is shaping up well; think of all the lovely fresh food you'll enjoy! And had a grin about the pee and the compost heap!

Re: Yola's Allotment Thread :-)

Looks like the dreaded rabbits are moving in. There is a new burrow just next to where I park my car So the Fort Knox chicken wire will be much needed to stop them varmints from eating our fruit and veg - we've buried the wire about 9 inches below ground!
