Smudgley, I have the greatest respect and admiration for people like you who do rescue work...just had to say it. I could never do it, I would want to keep them all...

Re: Smudge (rescue cat)

I hate it when people ask if I get paid for fostering, I get strange looks too when people realise that my expenses get covered but that is it (and I always spend some of my money on them too!!). It is a wonderful feeling though - Annie, the one I mentioned above shoudl be going to her new home tomorrow, and it will be lovely hearing how she is settling in etc, and the next one is already lined up, so then I have the excitement of going picking her up too!!

Re: Smudge (rescue cat)

People obviously dont understand the difference between fosterer / volunteer and employee.

I have to secretly admit I'll be dissapointed if i can't foster but at least i CAN help in some other way

I know what you mean - I didn't tell "the mother-in-law" that it costs me to foster - she would have pulled a bigger funny face (only costs me because I choose to buy things).
- I think she pulled a face because she thought it was a lot of work - for no pay. Didn't enter into a conversation with her (rarely do about anything) but the satisfaction I get from helping these pussy cats is a thousand times more rewarding than any money would be. Plus - I actually love every minute of doing what I do.!
