Unfortunately, we lost a duck the day after replying to this, we think she got stuck in the water and got hypothermia (it was down to -12 that night) and had a chicken PTS two days later as she had egg peritonitis. |

How is Pippin getting on now? |

Pippin is doing well, he hasn't been out like we hoped as it is too risky for his feet and joints to put him out in either the frost (uneven ground) or mud (slippy). He is being a good boy though, but I feel bad for him that he is still inside. He gets to speak to Pixie as she goes in and out, which is good as she will be his field companion. He started his vaccinations today and the vet saw a huge difference in him, we don't notice it the same as we see him every day. Once the blacksmith sees him again we will decide on x-rays. I am quite pleased,as he is starting to trust us, and even when he gets a fright (he is still very nervous) he will calm when we talk to him and follow our lead. So, generally, all good. |

You're doing a great job with him, Farthing....look forward to stories about him being outside and enjoying it once Spring finally gets here .... |
