Re: Back in a bit!!

I am terrified of lightening - I switch off all electrical items and pull the plugs out, close all windows and close the curtains then I get my bed covers and pillows and make a den on the bedroom floor and my dogs come under the covers with me - I don't speak on the phone either when there is a thunder storm

Re: Back in a bit!!

Just been speaking to my neighbour directly across the road from me, his whole downstairs was flooded last night!! I was very fortunate in that my house is at the end of the gentle slope, whereas his is on the level, so all the water pooled at his! Goint to be a nightmare to get it sorted. Hayley also spent the day in the corridor at school as the lower schools classrooms are all flooded. Shocked they didn't just get sent home! Also been warned we are forecast for more storms and a lot worse to come!

Oh I hope you don't get more Alex!
I thought I heard the forecast saying no more heavy rain at least for tonight?

Re: Back in a bit!!

I'm one of those people who is quite scared of thunderstorms: get off the phone and computer and close the windows. And it is true about ball lightning, that happened to a friend's mother years ago! I never heard the one about covering the mirrors, though, nor the knives and forks....
