My mum always made us put any knives, forks or spoons down immediately there was a thunder storm! Here's a report of what it was like here last night....... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/bristol/6769735.stm |

Just been speaking to my neighbour directly across the road from me, his whole downstairs was flooded last night!! I was very fortunate in that my house is at the end of the gentle slope, whereas his is on the level, so all the water pooled at his! Goint to be a nightmare to get it sorted. Hayley also spent the day in the corridor at school as the lower schools classrooms are all flooded. Shocked they didn't just get sent home! Also been warned we are forecast for more storms and a lot worse to come! |

I'm one of those people who is quite scared of thunderstorms: get off the phone and computer and close the windows. And it is true about ball lightning, that happened to a friend's mother years ago! I never heard the one about covering the mirrors, though, nor the knives and forks.... |
